This is a 1 day event introducing Eastern soft tissue techniques. The event is broken down into two separate courses that will augment the clinicians ability to integrate methods from the East and techniques from the West to release fascia.

At the end of these courses the clinician will be able to utilize techniques to relieve and release stubborn and potentially painful conditions. Palpatory and visual observation is emphasized to assist the clinician with their treatments.

*Please note both courses are needed to proceed to future courses that are body/area/condition specific.You must take Part 1 to participate in Part 2.

 Part #1: The Fascia and Eastern Medical Theory

Course Description:

This course is ideal for Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, Naturopaths and Physiotherapists.

This is a practical course that will enhance the clinicians soft tissue/massage skills as it relates to fascia. The course intends to apply Eastern hands on techniques and palpation to release fascia. It will allow the practitioner to view the patient’s body via an Eastern perspective. The techniques are easy to learn and can result in powerful results.

Outcomes:

 

  • The learner will understand Basic Acupuncture channel theory and Eastern medical concepts

  • Understand the concept of stagnation and energy flow

  • Apply palpation techniques on the channels to assess areas that require treatment

  • Combine some effective techniques from Tui Na(Chinese Medical Massage) with Western fascial release techniques

  • Be able to reassess post treatment

Part #2: Integrating Eastern and Western Methods to Release Fascia

Course Description:

This course is ideal for Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, Naturopaths and Physiotherapists.

This is a practical course that will enhance the clinicians soft tissue/massage skills as it relates to fascia. The clinician will be able to integrate Western Massage/soft tissue techniques with Eastern methods.

Gua Sha(Myofascial “scraping”) will be introduced as a powerful adjunct to release fascia and soft tissues along with Western massage methods.

Outcomes:

 

  • The learner will understand Basic Acupuncture channel theory and Eastern medical concepts

  • Understand the concept of stagnation and energy flow

  • Apply palpation techniques on the channels to assess areas that require treatment

  • Combine the Eastern technique such as Gua Sha with Western massage techniques to release fascia and soft tissues

  • Be able to understand basic Assessment and reassessment techniques via skin observation and palpation
